Expert Dating and Advise Tips for Singles with an Active Lifestyle

Dating Expert and Online Dating Coach, April Braswell, specializes in Online Dating Coaching and working with clients over 40.

Dating and an active lifestyle can go hand in hand.

When our parents and maybe our grandparents were dating and courting, the man was exclusively demonstrating his masculine protection and provision.  So, going out to dinner and a movie was hot stuff and precisely the thing to do for him to demonstrate the lifestyle marrying him would provide to his wife and family.

Times sure have changed, haven’t they?

Now quite often both single men and single women have jobs and careers.  The single woman isn’t so much looking to be taken out to high-calorie meals and sedentary movies all the time.  Indeed, for a first date or Date0 in my Online Dating Coach world, I do recommend drinks and appetizers at a classy restaurant bar for your first meeting.  However, by about the 3rd or 4th date, it is time to get down to some interesting shared activities time for creating memories and sharing life together.

When you are someone with an active lifestyle, you likely desire to be in a romantic relationship with someone who will share and compliment your athletic pursuits, don’t you?

So, instead of dinner and movie, on the weekends start suggesting:

Mountain Biking Hiking Angel Island Jogging A Kettlebells Class Skiing or Snowboarding A Day at the beach – go swimming, boarding, surfing Weight-lifting at the gym together Going Dancing Together – take a class or just for the evening

At the end of the work out and day, then you can go get a bite to eat and relax and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxing environment.  Additionally, you’ll have endorphins to enjoy and associate with your date (and they will associate that pleasant feeling with you!).

An added bonus!  You will be fit and your skin clean, so you will be LOOKING your best, which is always magnetically attractive to the opposite sex!

Happy Dating and Relationships to you!

Not to mention that if a couple grows …unfit (hate the “f” word so try not to use it) together IMHO it becomes twice as hard to motivate yourself to exercise.

Wise advice from both of you.

I would rather spend a night being active than high calorie food/drinks night out. It is nice once in awhile or special occasions but for every date I agree there should be other activities the both of you can share.

  4. I think you get to see a much truer side of someone when you’re engaged in physical activity than when you’re in a more controllable environment.

I’ve re-read that and it sounds ruder than I meant it to, but you know what I mean!

    Superstar Guest Post!

    Awesome stuff guys!

  6. What a great article! Usually people do think of going out for drinks, dinner, movies etc. I’m sure most don’t think “let’s go for a walk, a hike, swimming, etc.” Getting healthy together sounds like a win-win situation to me!

My husband and I used to go canoeing and horseback riding together before we had children.
