Real Life Fat Loss

After (August '09)

Have you seen any incredibly drastic before / after pictures in which a person goes from ordinary couch potato to looking like a Mr. Universe competitor, all in a matter of a few weeks?  Many of those photos are legitimate.  However, most, if not all such drastic transformations occur when a person that was previously well developed gets back into training, or the person has tremendous genetics, or the person uses some form of pharmaceutical enhancements, or some combination of these factors.  This is not to say that drastic transformations are impossible for average people, it’s just to say that every body is different, and that results will vary.

So, what can a person expect if he/she starts from scratch (no previous training), works hard and consistently on a good program?  Here’s an example.  These are before / after pictures of a client I’m working with.  He is 43 years old.  In the before picture he is 224 lbs. and just over 29% body fat.  In the after picture, which was taken 12 weeks after the before picture, he was 195 lbs, and around 16% body fat.

That’s 29 lbs and 13% body fat in 12 weeks.  See how he’s eliminated his belly?  Neat, huh?  Three weeks subsequent to the after picture, he had lost another 4% body fat, and has become very lean, indeed.

This is real life fat loss.  Additional examples, fitness tips, and how this type of weight control can be achieved will follow. — Darryl

I can only imagine how great this guy feels. Good job and the hair removal – I am also wondering why.

    Great results my man!

I find bodybuilding before and after photos endlessly entertaining. Somehow exercise always seems to result in the loss of body hair and the application of fake tan.

    Funny how that works! 🙂

  4. Katie says:

Yeah, I’m wondering why the shave too. But nice work with the belly drop. Great stuff!

  5. Great results. It is good to see a real before and after picture. It seems that when he lost the weight he lost his body hair…lol! That’s kind of a bonus.

That is a fantastic result, both with body fat% and weight loss. Simple and easy for anyone to do. Question: Would you catagorise weight loss as personal growth?

I know what hard work it takes to transform. I did the 1998 EAS contest and dropped 37lbs of fat and made great gains in muscle.

It can be done. Over the years the pounds are back. You just helped me make the choice to go for 12 more weeks.

  16. Whoa Darryl, You must be one heck of a coach! Great job! He looks awesome, but why did he shave the hair – it was hot!!! Oh yeah, that’s a bodybuilder thing or something isn’t it. Is there any other reason for that? Just curious.
