What Gives You Fitness Success?

Motivational speaker Jim Rohn said that “Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day.”

You and I are aiming for success in our fitness.  Since that is the case, then we should practice a few simple disciplines that will take us to our fitness goal every day.

The disciplines we should practice for fitness are these:

  • Exercise
  • Eating right or put another way, watching our diet
  • Getting enough rest

What fitness discipline did you practice today?  If the answer is none, then the time to start is now.  If the answer is one or more of those disciplines given in the list above, then congratulations — you took another step toward your fitness destiny.

Now I’m going to put my actions where my mouth is.  Each day, or on most days that I exercise or do something related to fitness, I plan to post it here so you can see what I do to attempt to stay in shape.  Here’s what I did today:

  • 20 minutes on the rowing machine.  In those 20 minutes, I covered 4833 meters and burned 323 calories.
  • Next, I did Stiff-legged deadlifts.stiff-legged deadlifts in the garage gymThe sets and pounds I used are listed below.  I rested one minute between sets.
    • 135×12
    • 170×10
    • 195×8
    • 225×6
    • 185×12 super-setted with Leg Curls — 60×12
  • Then a 50-meter sprint
  • Lastly standing dumbbell calf raises.  I held dumbbells in each hand and took one minute rest between sets.
    • 30lb dumbbellsx24
    • 40×20
    • 50×16
    • 60×12
    • 50×24 super-setted with Standing Barbell Calf Raises — 135×24
